The Role
We’re seeking a System, Cyber & Safety Manager (m/f/d) to ensure our robotic systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and mission success. At ARX Robotics, we’re pioneering the next generation of unmanned ground systems for defense, security, and critical infrastructure missions. To join our team, you should be excited to
  • Lead and grow the Safety Engineering & Mission Assurance function within ARX.
  • Define, implement, and maintain the Safety Case and Mission Assurance Plan for all UGV programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as IEC 61508, EN ISO 13849, ISO 26262, NATO AEP-4754, MIL-STD-882E, and other relevant NATO safety requirements.
  • Ensure alignment with the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 as a key framework for ARX’s dual-use compliance landscape.
  • Oversee Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and System-Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA).
  • Establish and drive a RAMS-based engineering approach (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) to ensure mission assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Guide design teams through Safety-by-Design principles and risk-based decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain Mission Assurance metrics, risk registers, and verification / validation plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external safety audits and certification activities.
  • Mentor engineers to strengthen ARX’s safety culture, standards knowledge, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align safety and mission assurance strategy with program objectives and delivery timelines.
Your Profile

  • 15 + years of experience in Safety or Mission Assurance roles, preferably within defense, robotics, aerospace, or automotive.
  • Proven experience in safety case development, RAMS frameworks, and product compliance.
  • Strong familiarity with system safety analysis methods and tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines.
  • You are a technically strong, hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of engineering, risk management, and mission-critical operations.
  • You’re passionate about systems that simply cannot fail and about building the culture, processes, and evidence base that make that possible.
  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Aerospace, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with autonomous systems or UGVs.
    • Exposure to software safety assurance and robotics reliability frameworks.
