Job Description

As a Platform engineer you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the underlying platforms that support our applications and services. You will work closely with development, operations, and product teams to ensure that our platform is secure, scalable, and reliable.

• building scalable infrastructure. We are serious about delivering incremental value in each iteration, and we celebrate when we improve people's experience with our solution, make an impact towards our climate goals.

• growing, learning & sharing. Do you know all there is to know about Kubernetes or are you experienced on graceful degradation? We’d love to learn from your knowledge. Not entirely sure about eBPF, then you’ll have the chance to learn about it and implement it first-hand.

• Bringing delight to all engineers. We treat our Platform as a product that’s consumed by other engineers just like yourself. We're all about improving stability, user experience, performance and automating as much as we can while observing industry best-practices and using state-of-the-art technologies.

• working on architecture & vision. We analyze new requirements critically to see which moving parts would have to change, explore opportunities to solve organization-spanning challenges with elegant architectural solutions.

• steering for empathy and understanding. Only when we comprehend what is needed, we can create solutions that truly address underlying challenges. Ask critical questions and listen to the teams - there are so many stakeholders and users to get input from, and balancing their needs leads to the best solutions.

Qualifications

We are looking for roughly a 50% fit with for what we ask. The other 50% is a surprise to us, it is the magic you bring to the table and the diversity in which you make us grow.

• you have over 5 years of experience in cloud development and operations

• you have built, helped building or managed an Internal Developer Platform before.

• you have extensive knowledge of cloud computing with Azure, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Terragrunt and Observability and Alerting.

• Out of the following, you at least tick some of the boxes: MongoDB, Datadog, C#, Typescript, Python, developer portals such as Backstage.

• you communicate clearly in English, spoken and written. Crisp and concise ways of formulating your ideas and opinions. Knowledge of German is a plus.
