About this role:
Join us as Junior HR Manager (m/f/d), to help strengthen the foundations of our team, enabling LAP Coffee’s growth while staying true to Life Among People. You’ll sit at the center of our employee experience: making sure new team members start strong, our HR operations run smoothly, and our values show up in everyday decisions.
You’ll work closely with HR, Operations, and our store teams to support a fast-growing, hospitality-driven startup business, balancing hands-on execution with a mindset for improving processes over time. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants real ownership, exposure to many HR topics, and the chance to see their work directly impact hundreds of people in our stores and office. LAP Coffee’s ambitious goals mean endless opportunities. This role is your gateway to grow, learn, and make an impact in a young, customer-focused environment in 2026.
What you’ll do:
Own onboarding end to end: You’ll assist in coordinating and managing the full onboarding journey: preparing contracts and documents, ensuring tech and system access, coordinating orientation, and following up so every new LAP colleague feels welcomed, informed, and ready for their first shift or first day in the office.
Keep our HR data accurate and compliant: You’ll maintain and update employee records in our HRIS, payroll tools, and personnel files, with a high bar for data quality, confidentiality, and compliance with German labor and social security regulations.
Learning, performance, and growth: You’ll help organize and coordinate training, development, and performance review cycles, working closely with our Training Lead and Operations to make sure programs are practical for a busy F&B environment.
Be a guide and support to our employees:
Part of your daily work is answering questions about policies, procedures, contracts, vacation, sick leave, and being a guide on basic social security topics, always aiming for clear, empathetic, and solution-oriented communication.
Contribute to projects across HR and Talent: You’ll support HR projects such as engagement initiatives, policy updates, and audits, and you’ll collaborate on talent acquisition and employer branding to help us attract and retain great people for our stores and support functions.
Our values reflected in your daily work:
Unreasonable hospitality
You believe how we serve is as valuable as what we serve, and that this applies just as much to employees as it does to guests. In HR, that means:
Creating moments that matter in the employee journey, from first contact to anniversaries and promotions.
Serving with intention and being relationship-driven, not transactional, in how you communicate and support people.
“Owning the moment” when something goes wrong, using great service and clear communication to turn a difficult situation into a positive experience.
Own every shift
You approach your work like an owner, not a renter. In this role, that looks like:
Leading from any seat: you don’t need a senior title to spot issues, suggest improvements, and move things forward.
Taking pride in the details, whether it’s a contract being correct, a system being up to date, or a new hire feeling fully prepared and welcome.
Investing in others and yourself by learning and sharing knowledge, supporting managers, and helping colleagues grow their skills and careers.
Belong here
HR is a key host of our internal community. You help create spaces where people feel they belong, no matter their role or background. That means:
Making sure our processes, policies, and communication are inclusive, fair, and accessible.
Hosting with heart: welcoming every new team member, listening actively, and fostering connection across stores, roles, and locations.
Helping LAP stay rooted in the “Kiez spirit”. Locally grounded, people-first, and community-minded.
Values in every cup
In this role, you help make Life Among People real for our teams by designing and running HR processes that feel fair, human, and genuinely supportive.
Grow with purpose by supporting hiring, development, and HR projects that are sustainable and aligned with our long-term vision.
Act with integrity, especially around confidentiality, compliance, and employee trust.
Put people first in decisions, balancing legal, operational, and human perspectives in a thoughtful way.
You might be a fit for this role if:You bring HR foundations: you have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and 1–2 years of experience in an HR support or coordination role (internships or your first full-time role both count).
Curiosity about legal and process topics: you have a solid understanding of core HR concepts and already know, or are motivated to quickly learn, the essentials of German labor and social security law.
You communicate clearly and build trust: you’re comfortable working in a diverse, international environment, supporting both store teams and office colleagues, handling sensitive topics with discretion, and following through reliably.
You love structure and good tools: you’re organized, detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple deadlines, and confident using Google Workspace and HR tools; experience with Ashby, Personio and Quinyx is a plus.
You feel at home in a brick and mortar startup environment: ideally you’ve worked in or around hospitality, retail, or other large blue-collar workforces, and you’re excited about using process and automation to make HR more scalable and supportive for everyone.
If you’re excited about building people processes in a fast moving organization that reflect unreasonable hospitality, real ownership, and a genuine sense of belonging, this role at LAP Coffee will give you the room and responsibility to do that every day.
