About the Role

As a Consulting Principal – Product Owner, you will make an impact by owning the end-to-end product vision, driving value delivery, and serving as the primary decision-maker for product scope and priorities. You will work across business, operations, engineering, compliance, and executive stakeholders to define, deliver, and scale capabilities that generate measurable business outcomes.

In This Role, You Will

· Own the full product vision aligned to business strategy, customer needs, and program objectives.

· Translate strategy into clear epics, features, and value measures.

· Ensure delivered capabilities maximize business value and customer satisfaction.

· Own and refine the product backlog across the lifecycle.

· Prioritize based on value, risk, dependencies, and regulatory needs.

· Define functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and definition of done.

· Ensure requirements are testable and traceable to business outcomes.

· Partner with architecture and engineering to ensure feasibility and alignment.

· Serve as the primary business decision authority for product scope and priorities.

· Engage stakeholders across business, operations, technology, compliance, and risk.

· Participate in governance forums (OpCo, SteerCo) to represent product direction.

· Review risks, progress, and dependencies impacting product outcomes.

· Validate feature readiness prior to release.

· Partner with QA, operations, and change teams to ensure adoption and readiness.

· Confirm capabilities are usable, supportable, and delivering value post-launch.

Work Model

This is a remote position open to qualified applicants in the United States. Working arrangements may change based on business or client needs, and Cognizant will always be transparent about expectations.

What You Must Have to Be Considered

· Experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager, ideally within consulting or enterprise transformation programs.

· Strong product strategy, backlog management, and agile delivery capabilities.

· Proven ability to translate strategy into actionable epics, features, and stories.

· Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

· Analytical mindset with ability to simplify complex business needs.

These Will Help You Succeed

· Experience in consulting environments leading digital or product transformation.

· Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe PO/PM.

· Experience with user research, value measurement, and adoption frameworks.

· Ability to thrive in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
