Job Title - SAS Administrator

About the role
As a SAS Administrator, you will make an impact by supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the SAS platforms that power enterprise analytics and reporting. You will be a key member of our Technology & Engineering team, partnering with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure a secure, stable, and high‑performing SAS environment.
In this role, you will:
- Support and manage the SAS environment, including SAS software, servers, and platform infrastructure.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch SAS platforms.
- Administer SAS Management Console (SAS MC), including users, groups, roles, and access controls.
- Support SAS Grid environments and manage batch execution workloads.
- Perform SAS platform migrations (on‑premises to cloud or cross‑platform).
- Integrate authentication mechanisms such as Active Directory or LDAP.
- Monitor platform performance, analyze issues, and resolve system‑level problems.
- Ensure SAS platforms remain secure, reliable, and scalable to support enterprise analytics and reporting workloads.
Work model — Onsite (Riverwoods, IL)

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 4 - 5 days per week in our client or Cognizant office located in Riverwoods, IL.

What you need to have to be considered
- Hands‑on experience administering SAS environments (e.g., SAS 9.4, SAS Viya, SAS Grid).
- Strong background in SAS platform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
- Experience administering security and access through SAS Management Console (SAS MC).
- Experience supporting SAS Grid or multi‑node distributed environments.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, including shell scripting and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating SAS with enterprise authentication solutions (Active Directory, LDAP).
- Hands‑on experience with SAS platform migrations (on‑prem to cloud or cross‑platform).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to resolve platform performance issues.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross‑team collaboration skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise analytics environments.
- Exposure to cloud implementations involving SAS technologies.
- Knowledge of system‑level monitoring and automation tools.
- Ability to interface with data engineering, infrastructure, and analytics teams.
- Proven experience improving performance, scalability, and operational stability.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until March 25, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $64,000 – $95,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
