Data Network Engineer L2/L3

Job Summary
Experienced IT Team Lead with 10–12+ years in managing retail store systems and data center network infrastructure, specializing in service delivery, operations management, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• L2/L3 incident, change, problem, and service request management
• Support and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs)
• Firewall & security operations including Cisco ASA, Firepower NGFW, Palo Alto
• Routing & switching (EIGRP, BGP, Nexus, Catalyst, ACI)
• Site-to-site IPsec VPN setup and firewall policy management
• Cloud networking support, VPC incidents, and migration assistance
• DNS management using Bluecat
• Coordinate between onshore and offshore teams and across infra/app teams
• Act as SME, provide architectural consulting, and drive technology transformation & automation
• Lead micro-projects, PoCs, upgrades, refreshes, QoS changes, and RFCs
• Handle escalations, RCA, risk & mitigation
• Support resource planning, skill development, training, documentation (SOWs, SOPs, KAs)
• Participate in Scrum calls and provide regular WSR/MSR/PMR reporting
Required / Preferred Skills
• Strong experience in retail network operations
• Hands-on cloud environment & project deployments
• Certifications in Cloud, SD-WAN, CCNP+, Security (preferred)
Must-Have Technology Portfolio
• Cisco ASA Firewalls
• Cisco Firepower NGFW
• Cisco Catalyst & Nexus Switching
• Cisco Routing & ACI
• Cisco ISE
• Cloud VPCs & incident handling
• Palo Alto Firewall

The annual salary for this position is between $73,350– $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
