Cognizant is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a full-time opportunity onsite, working from the office in San Jose, CA. Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future
Responsibilities:
Core Network Administration
- Implement firewalls, switches, and SD‑WAN appliances to support WAN connectivity and network segmentation.
- Adds, Changes, and Deletes related to network infrastructure.
- VLAN assignments, port provisioning, and access configuration changes.
- Routing, segmentation updates, and interface configuration adjustments.
- Configure Policy, ACL, routing, and segmentation maintenance.
- Implement VLANs and subnets to support expanding network architecture while maintaining security and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain LAN and WAN configurations including QoS, NTP, SNMP/Telemetry, and NetFlow.
2. Firewall Administration & Security Operations
- Deploy new Palo Alto firewalls into the enterprise network environment.
- Implement security policies, NAT rules, URL filtering, and VPN configurations (site‑to‑site, remote access).
- Manage users, objects, and security configurations across firewall management platforms.
- Implement centralized panorama management operations, including template and stack management.
- Perform vulnerability mitigation for network operating systems and configurations and perform software upgrade.
3. Wireless Network Support
- Configure SSIDs, enterprise authentication (WPA2/WPA3), and RADIUS integration.
- Manage wireless profiles, access updates, and SSID modifications.
- Troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues and optimize wireless performance.
Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of firewalls, routing, switching, wireless, and configurations with major network vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE, Fortinet, etc.).
8 years of experience with Network Access Controls.
Experience with wire health monitoring tools like 7 Signal.
Knowledge about Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Exposure to vulnerabilities tools, fixing and remediation.
The salary range for this role is between $99,000 and $125,000 depending on skills, experience and qualifications of the candidate. Applications will be accepted till 3/22/2026.
