Retail Fraud Management System Analyst
About the role
As a Retail Fraud Management System Analyst, you will make an impact by protecting the organization from financial loss through the configuration, optimization, and analysis of retail fraud detection systems. You will be a valued member of the Fraud Prevention team and work collaboratively with IT, Loss Prevention, Operations, and customer‑facing teams to identify fraud patterns, enhance system accuracy, and strengthen defenses against emerging threats.
In this role, you will:
- Administer and configure fraud detection platforms, serving as the primary point of contact for system functionality and enhancements.
- Monitor transactional activity to identify trends, anomalies, and potential fraudulent behavior across retail and e‑commerce channels.
- Optimize fraud engine rules and thresholds to reduce false positives while minimizing chargebacks and losses.
- Investigate suspicious transactions, account activity, and payment data to determine fraud risk and recommend interventions.
- Build reports and dashboards using SQL, Excel, and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to track fraud trends and provide insights to stakeholders.
- Partner with IT, Loss Prevention, and customer service teams to resolve issues, improve workflows, and strengthen fraud‑related processes.
Work model — Onsite (Vancouver, BC)

What you need to have to be considered
- 6–10 years of experience in fraud detection, risk management, or data analytics, with at least 4+ years in retail or e‑commerce fraud.
- Experience with fraud detection tools (e.g., CyberSource, Appriss, ACI), POS risk dashboards, or payment gateway platforms.
- Strong SQL skills for querying, data extraction, and analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and fraud indicators within large datasets.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with custom in‑house fraud tools or advanced rule‑based engines.
- Background in chargeback investigation, payment fraud, or account takeover prevention.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Experience in retail, omnichannel, or e‑commerce environments.
- Knowledge of best practices in risk mitigation and loss prevention.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between CAD 60,000 – 96,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
