We are seeking a highly experienced Profile v7 SME with deep core banking domain expertise and strong Profile Scripting Language (PSL) knowledge.

The role requires an SME‑level professional capable of leading large‑scale core banking upgrade and modernization programs, engaging directly with Tier‑1 banking clients, and guiding development teams through complex Profile implementations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Profile v7 for core banking implementations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
  • Lead design, development, and conversion of Profile customizations, including:
    • Legacy MUMPS‑based customizations
    • Migration and redevelopment using PSL (Profile Scripting Language)
  • Drive Profile upgrade programs for banks running older Profile versions (15–20+ years old environments).
  • Provide technical leadership across onshore and offshore development teams.
  • Review architecture, design specifications, and code to ensure:
    • Alignment with Profile best practices
    • High performance, stability, and maintainability
  • Act as the primary technical interface with client stakeholders, including:
    • Bank IT leadership
    • Operations and functional SMEs
    • Vendor and product teams
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root‑cause analysis.
  • Support knowledge transition (KT) and mentor junior and mid‑level Profile developers.
  • Contribute to estimation, planning, and delivery governance for large programs.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in core banking / retail banking systems
  • 5+ years of deep expertise in Profile Scripting Language (PSL)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Profile v7 architecture
    • Legacy MUMPS and customization conversion approaches
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale Profile upgrade or implementation programs
  • Excellent client‑facing communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Core banking domains (Accounts, Deposits, Loans, Interest, Fees, Posting, EOD/BOD)
    • Regulatory and audit considerations in banking systems

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience working with Tier‑1 banks and multi‑country banking environments
  • Exposure to:
    • API enablement or integrations around Profile
    • Modernization programs linked to digital channels or middleware
  • Prior involvement in Profile replacement or coexistence programs (Profile + digital core / integration layers)

Role Level / Band

  • Manager / Senior Manager / Specialist SME
  • Suitable for Onshore Lead SME roles or critical client‑facing positions”

Work Authorization:

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until March 6th 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $ 1000,000 K -$ 155,000K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans
