Job Title: DevOps Run Support

Job Location- Remote, Calgary, AB, Canada

This position is dedicated to day‑to‑day production application support for critical enterprise systems. The role supports a lean operational team and therefore requires someone who can contribute immediately, operate autonomously, and thrive in a RUN‑focused production environment.

While this is considered an entry‑level engineering role, it is not a training position. The successful candidate must be confident supporting live systems, responding to incidents, and executing operational tasks with minimal supervision early in the engagement.

In this role, you will

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring operational stability, including:

  • Monitoring application and system health, proactively responding to alerts and production issues

  • Performing frontline incident triage and resolution using ServiceNow

  • Participating in an established on‑call rotation during business‑critical periods

  • Conducting weekly fix, patch, and maintenance testing and validation

  • Managing and tracking application and API certificates, including renewal and validation

  • Participating in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing, exercises, and documentation updates

  • Collaborating with internal support teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date operational documentation and runbooks

Secondary Responsibilities (Build & Automation Support)

As production stability allows, the engineer may also assist with light engineering activities, such as:

  • Performing minor development tasks and writing basic automation scripts

  • Supporting and troubleshooting existing API integrations

  • Assisting with CI/CD pipeline support under guidance (no pipeline ownership required)

  • Executing configuration updates and deployment-related tasks

  • Supporting vendor-provided SaaS platforms in a hybrid build/run operational model

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

  • 1–3 years of experience in application engineering, software development, or DevOps

  • Demonstrated ability to support live production applications with minimal supervision

  • Strong capability in incident intake, troubleshooting, and resolution

  • Experience supporting RESTful APIs (e.g., Apigee, Postman)

  • Experience with application and API certificate management

  • Working knowledge of GitHub or similar source control platforms

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work within structured change, compliance, and release management processes

Preferred skills: what will help you stand out

  • Exposure to LLM prompt engineering or AI-assisted development tooling

  • Familiarity with JSON, YAML, and configuration‑driven automation

  • Experience working in regulated enterprise environments

  • Previous support experience with vendor-hosted SaaS platforms
