The ideal candidate will serve as a technical consultant and subject matter expert, partnering with engineering, sales, and customer teams to design scalable cloud solutions, resolve deployment challenges, and improve cloud reliability and performance.

In this role, you will

  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert (SME) for internal engineering, sales, and customer-facing teams to resolve technical deployment obstacles and enhance Google Cloud adoption.

  • Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, focusing on immutability, scalability, automation, and operational excellence.

  • Architect, implement, and support foundational GCP services including IAM, VPC, Cloud Logging, Security controls, Storage, and Compute.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex issues across GKE Enterprise, Serverless, Big Data, and Data Analytics offerings such as Dataproc, Dataflow, Composer, and BigQuery.

  • Build tools and accelerators to streamline debugging and improve root-cause analysis for customer‑reported issues.

  • Apply strong software engineering practices using Java, Go, or Python to deliver reusable automation modules, services, and operational tooling.

  • Work with modern containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

  • Implement and optimize traffic flow management solutions including Service Mesh architectures (e.g., Istio) and load‑balancing patterns (GTM/LTM).

  • Utilize logging, monitoring, and observability platforms such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL) to ensure reliability of cloud services.

  • Contribute to FinOps initiatives by supporting cloud cost optimization, governance, and efficiency improvements.

  • Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear, actionable cloud solutions.

  • Support production systems at scale with a strong focus on operational stability, performance, and security.

  • Continuously evaluate, learn, and adopt emerging cloud technologies to maximize innovation and value delivery.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

  • 3–10 years of experience with Infrastructure Automation, specifically Terraform and IaC design principles.

  • 3–10 years of hands‑on experience with GCP foundational services, including IAM, VPC, Logging, Security, Storage, and Compute.

  • Deep technical understanding of GCP GKE Enterprise, Serverless platforms, Big Data services, and Data Analytics technologies (Dataproc, Composer, Dataflow, BigQuery, etc.).

  • Experience developing software in at least one object‑oriented programming language: Java, Go, or Python.

  • Knowledge of secure, scalable cloud architecture and best practices for high availability, visibility, and compliance.

  • Strong background with containers and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

  • Understanding of Traffic Flow Management and Service Mesh frameworks; experience with Istio strongly preferred.

  • Experience with cloud observability tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, and OTEL.

  • Prior exposure to FinOps practices is a plus.

  • Proven experience supporting large-scale production systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them effectively.

Preferred skills: what will help you stand out

  • GCP professional certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer)
