About the role:

A Technical Specialist is the liaison between the Operations team and Engineering team and responsible for ensuring the smooth technical functioning of the Ops teams. The Technical Specialist is the primary point of contact for the end-to-end onboarding of new joiners, granting and auditing system accesses, and responding to support tickets for technical issues (bugs, latency, and tool issues). They perform debugging and analysis, maintain crucial team data files, and escalate bugs that negatively impact operations in a timely and clear way.

Responsibilities:

· Grant and manage system and tool access for new joiners and existing teams, ensuring permissions are accurate and secure.

· Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, focusing on account provisioning, tool access, and initial communication with new joiners.

· Analyze and resolve tool problems by diagnosing complex issues discovered in products.

· Act as a technology expert for Geo Operators and Program Managers, removing technical obstacles and resolving user-reported problems.

· Work closely with Geo program management and software engineering teams to appropriately file bugs and escalate issues, ensure reproducibility, and clearly communicate user issues.

· Prepare and maintain crucial team files, training databases, and dashboards (as needed) to ensure operational readiness.

· Coordinate tool releases and new updates and test tool fixes or new features for engineers.

· Submit code changes for internal Google tools and update scripts to allow for Quality Control (QCing) on training databases.

· Diagnose global geo problems related to software and Linux environments.

· Ensure all technical requests and onboarding tasks are delivered on time and according to established thresholds.

Requirements:

· Strong ability to troubleshoot and solve complex software, script, and tool issues.

· Great communication skills for clear reporting and cross-team collaboration with Engineering and Program Management.

· Ability to work independently, take initiative, and look for proactive solutions to problems.

· Proven ability to deliver tasks on time and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Highly proficient in the Google environment, with expert-level knowledge of Google Sheets and dashboard development.

· High level of organization and attention to detail in preparing and maintaining crucial team documentation and scripts.

· Technological savviness.
