As a Team Lead working with Fiber Telecommunication Installation, you will be responsible for both the operational success and professional development of a team of professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication skills, a focus on team empowerment, and a strategic mindset. You will act as a primary point of contact for your team, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to meet project goals and deliver high-quality work. This is a remote role for US-based candidates only. There is also occasional travel throughout the year within the US only.

Role Responsibilities

People Management & Development:

  • Mentor, coach, and guide team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and formal performance reviews.
  • Identify individual strengths and development areas to create personalized growth plans.
  • Address and resolve internal team conflicts in a fair and professional manner.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day workflow, managing task assignments and project deadlines.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on team productivity and project status.
  • Proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks or issues that could impact project timelines.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the team and senior leadership, communicating updates, challenges, and successes.
  • Ensure all team members are aligned with company and project goals.
  • Collaborate with other team leads and departments to ensure seamless cross-functional workflows.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in field technician/installation role, preferably working with Fiber or Telecom
  • At least a High School diploma is required, Bachelor's is preferred
  • A proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team to achieve its goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in Field Operations
  • Experience in Telecom/ Fiber Installation related desk and field work

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $55,000 - $67,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
