Cognizant is looking for an Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) - The Data Engineer designs builds and maintains scalable data pipelines and architectures specializing in ingesting transforming and modeling customer data using XDM schemas RT-CDP and SQL. They collaborate with marketing and technical teams to enable real-time personalization identity resolution and data governance.

Role: AEP Architect

Location: Remote. Candidate must be in the U.S

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000/Year to $162,000/Year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Own the overall AEP and AJO solution architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and operational readiness.

• Lead architectural decision‑making across data, identity, journeys, integrations, and governance.

• Translate business objectives into platform‑native architectural patterns aligned to Adobe Experience League guidance.

• Provide architectural oversight across multiple workstreams and delivery teams.

• Architect XDM schema models, datasets, and profile enablement strategies.

• Design identity namespace strategies, merge policies, and profile stitching approaches.

• Lead Real‑Time CDP implementations including segmentation strategies using PQL.

• Define sandbox strategies and environment separation (dev / QA / stage / prod).

• Architect event‑triggered and segment‑qualified journeys, including re‑entry rules, throttling, and versioning

• Design cross‑channel orchestration across email, push, SMS, in‑app, and web.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and enterprise privacy frameworks.

• Architect integrations with upstream and downstream systems using AEP, RTCDP, and AJO APIs.

• Provide architectural guidance during Agile delivery, including sprint planning and design reviews.

• Support deployment and promotion strategies from lower environments to production.

• Define operational monitoring and troubleshooting standards using journey logs, message feedback events, and platform diagnostics.

• Act as escalation point for complex technical or architectural issues.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, marketing technology, or data platforms.

• Deep, hands‑on expertise with Adobe Experience Platform.

• Strong experience designing and delivering solutions with Adobe Journey Optimizer.

• Advanced knowledge of XDM modeling, identity resolution, and data governance.

• Strong proficiency in SQL for data modeling and transformation.

• Experience with REST APIs, event‑driven architectures, and system integrations.

• Solid understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and customer journey concepts.

• Experience leading architecture in regulated or privacy‑sensitive environments.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders.
