About the role

As a Profile v7 Developer, you will make an impact by leading complex core‑banking modernization and upgrade initiatives for Tier 1 financial institutions. You will be a valued member of our delivery team, working closely with technology leaders, client SMEs, and development teams to deliver high‑quality Profile solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Profile v7 across implementation, upgrade, and modernization programs.
  • Lead the design, development, and conversion of custom Profile components, including legacy MUMPS‑based customizations and redevelopment using PSL.
  • Drive large‑scale Profile upgrade programs, including modernization of 15–20+‑year‑old banking environments.
  • Provide technical leadership to onshore and offshore development teams to ensure quality, performance, and alignment with best practices.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for client stakeholders, including IT leadership, operations teams, and vendor partners.
  • Review architecture designs, specifications, and code to ensure stability, maintainability, and adherence to platform standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root‑cause analysis.
  • Mentor junior and mid‑level developers and support knowledge‑transition activities.
  • Contribute to program‑level planning, estimations, and delivery governance.

What you need to have to be considered:

  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in core banking or retail banking systems.
  • 5+ years of deep expertise with Profile Scripting Language (PSL).
  • Strong understanding of Profile v7 architecture, including legacy MUMPS and customization conversion approaches.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale Profile implementations or upgrade programs.
  • Excellent client‑facing communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of core banking domains, including accounts, deposits, loans, interest, fees, posting, and EOD/BOD processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and audit considerations within banking technology.

These will help you stand out:

  • Experience supporting Tier 1 banks or multi‑country banking environments.
  • Exposure to API enablement, integrations, or middleware modernization around Profile.
  • Background working on Profile coexistence or replacement programs (e.g., Profile with digital cores or integration layers).
  • Experience influencing modernization roadmaps or architectural decisions.
  • Prior involvement in digital transformation initiatives linked to core‑banking uplift.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until March 22, 2026.

The annual salary for this position is between $ 119,500 - $ 140,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
