Role: IBM MQ specialist
Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid)
IBM MQ Administration (Primary)
- Administer, configure, and support IBM MQ environments across dev/test/prod.
- Manage queue managers, clusters, channels, security (TLS, CHLAUTH, OAM), and HA/DR.
- Perform monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and incident resolution.
- Automate MQ operations using scripting and infrastructure‑as‑code approaches.
- Ensure platform stability, performance, and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Create and maintain operational runbooks and documentation.
- Assist application teams with MQ client configurations and messaging patterns.
Development & Integration Support (Secondary)
- Support and develop small utilities or tools in .NET, Java, Python, or Go.
- Collaborate with API and integration platforms such as DataPower or MuleSoft.
- Contribute to CI/CD and automation efforts related to MQ and integrations.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 to $105,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
