About the role

As a Sr. Consultant, you will make an impact by supporting client delivery across the cards and payments domain through structured analysis, operational insight, and consulting expertise. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant Consulting Payments & Money Movement practice, working collaboratively with project managers, solution architects, internal delivery teams, and client stakeholders to drive process improvements and successful implementations of payment solutions, including FIS products.

In this role, you will:

  • Assess and analyze client processes across card issuing, acquiring, authorization, settlement, ACH, RTP, and wire operations to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear functional recommendations and solution designs aligned with industry standards and best practices.

  • Support discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and client workshops, presenting findings and solution options to both business and technical audiences.

  • Contribute to implementation activities, including rollout planning, UAT support, risk tracking, and coordination with project managers to ensure high‑quality delivery.

  • Support operational excellence initiatives by conducting research, analyzing transaction flows, and recommending workflow and process optimizations across payment rails.

Work model

What you must have to be considered

  • 1–3+ years of experience in consulting, financial services, payments operations, or business analysis.

  • Working knowledge of Cards, Payments, or Money Movement domains, including authorization, clearing and settlement, ACH, wires, RTP, or digital wallets.

  • Experience conducting business and functional analysis, including requirements gathering and process documentation.

  • Understanding of payment-related regulatory and industry standards such as PCI, NACHA, ISO 8583, or ISO 20022 (working knowledge preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

These will help you succeed

  • Experience in banking, fintech, payment processing, or consulting environments.

  • Familiarity with implementation lifecycles, UAT planning and execution, and defect triage.

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and analyze system or process flows.

  • Exposure to APIs, integrations, or payment platforms.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently with moderate supervision, and collaborate across teams.
