Position Summary:
The Consulting Manager is responsible for defining, governing, and validating enterprise-grade data ingestion and cross-region data sharing architecture within a multi-cloud Databricks Lakehouse environment. The role is responsible for providing advice and proposals to prospective and current clients, as well leading the design and implementation of data solutions.
This role focuses on designing scalable, reusable ingestion patterns and secure data distribution mechanisms aligned with Unity Catalog governance, Permission Service enforcement, and federated data mesh principles. The position requires strong architectural oversight across batch, incremental, streaming, file-based, and cross-metastore Delta Sharing patterns while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and multi-region operational constraints.
Mandatory Skills:
Extensive knowledge and skills in architecting and implementing enterprise data platforms.
Senior level consulting, advisory and proposal development skills
Strong expertise in Databricks Lakehouse architecture and Unity Catalog governance
Deep understanding of batch, incremental (non-CDC), CDC, streaming, and file-based ingestion patterns
Experience designing multi-region and cross-cloud data sharing architectures using Delta Sharing
Solid knowledge of data governance models including secure views, row/column-level enforcement, and federated domain ownership
Experience with Infrastructure as Code principles and Terraform-managed resources
Strong understanding of cloud object storage (AWS S3, ADLS Gen2)
Knowledge of Service Principal authentication and secret management patterns
Ability to translate high-level enterprise requirements into logical and component-level architecture designs.
Duties And Responsibilities:
Design and validate logical and technical ingestion architectures for enterprise-scale Lakehouse implementations.
Define reusable ingestion patterns for batch, incremental, CDC, streaming, and file-based integration scenarios.
Ensure ingestion flows comply with Unity Catalog governance boundaries and Permission Service enforcement models.
Architect and review cross-region and cross-cloud Delta Sharing implementations across multiple Unity Catalog metastores.
Establish naming conventions, catalog standards, and metadata governance frameworks aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to align Terraform-managed infrastructure with dynamic microservice-driven share content management.
Define high-level and low-level design documentation for ingestion, publishing, and cross-metastore sharing workflows.
Evaluate architectural trade-offs between governance, scalability, agility, and operational complexity.
Provide technical oversight for Pipeline Factory ingestion patterns and publishing workflows.
Ensure architecture decisions align with multi-region scalability constraints and Unity Catalog quota limitations.
Support enterprise compliance through auditability, traceability, and deterministic infrastructure governance.
Qualifications & Certifications (Optional):
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
Databricks experience (Data Engineer or Architect level) preferred Scrum Master Certification.
