About the Role
As a Market Risk Specialist Lead, you will make an impact by leading complex Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) initiatives for large, regulated banking clients. You will play a pivotal role in translating regulatory and risk requirements into scalable, high‑quality technology and data solutions across Trading Book, CCAR, and CCR programs.
You will be a valued member of our Banking & Financial Services Consulting team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Product Data Analysts, and Technology teams. This role blends deep domain expertise, hands-on delivery leadership, and strategic client engagement within a highly regulated environment.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) initiatives, providing subject‑matter expertise across Trading Book, CCAR, IRRBB, VaR, stress testing, and FRTB‑related requirements
- Translate complex regulatory guidance and internal risk policies into clear, actionable epics, features, and user stories that enable compliant delivery
- Partner with senior business, risk, data, and technology stakeholders to define strategy and drive execution aligned to business and regulatory outcomes
- Own backlog quality and readiness by decomposing requirements, defining acceptance criteria, and maintaining end‑to‑end traceability through delivery
- Support agile delivery by collaborating with Scrum Masters and cross‑functional teams to resolve dependencies, clarify requirements, and remove impediments
- Perform business and data analysis to validate risk metrics, calculations, data definitions, and controls, translating findings into delivery enhancements
- Provide delivery leadership through UAT support, offshore/onshore team coordination, and contribution to client growth and consulting engagement success
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a position requires 3 days a week in a client Tulsa, OK or Dallas, TX. What You Must Have to Be Considered
- 12–15 years of experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst within banking or financial services
- Deep Market Risk domain expertise, including Trading Book risk, CCR, IRRBB, VaR, and stress testing
- Proven experience supporting CCAR initiatives, particularly in Market Risk data, analytics, controls, or reporting
- Strong understanding of FRTB concepts and their impact on Market Risk data sensitivities and calculations
- Hands-on experience working in data-intensive, highly regulated environments
- Strong ability to communicate complex regulatory, business, and technical concepts to senior stakeholders
Compensation
- $165,000-$194,000
- This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans
