About the Role
We are seeking a “Sr. Automation Test Engineer : Playwright or Cypress” to join our QEA team.
In this role, you will
• Lead and execute test automation efforts using Cypress/Playwright and at least one additional automation tool.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks aligned with project goals.
• Collaborate closely with agile teams using BDD, Cucumber, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and contribute to DevOps best practices.
• Support onshore–offshore delivery models to ensure smooth execution and communication.
Required skills
• 6+ Yrs. of experience in QA, with at least 2+ yrs. experience in Cypress and 2+ years in other automation tool . Total 4 years for automation is required
• Must have experience working in agile teams using BDD, Cucumber, Gitlab and Jenkins.
• Should be well versed in DevOps and CI/CD implementation.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Should work and support on-shore offshore model
Preferred skills
• Insurance domain experience is added advantage.
• · Added advantage if have worked as an automation architect to devise enterprise level automation solutions and frameworks with the aptitude to research, learn and new tools/technologies.
Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 80,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid or remote position open to qualified applicants across Canada, with preference for candidates based in Halifax, Canada.
