Senior SAP Functional Architect (d/f/m)

About the role
As a Senior SAP Functional Architect (d/f/m), you will make an impact by designing and implementing end‑to‑end transportation management solutions focusing on SAP Business Network for Logistics (BN4L) that optimize subcontracting, freight cost management, transportation planning, and financial integration. You will be a valued member of our advanced SAP Consulting & Delivery team, collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders across logistics, merchandising finance, and accounting domains.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the design and implementation of SAP BN4L and TM subcontracting processes, ensuring seamless alignment with business needs.
- Oversee freight cost management and settlement to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency.
- Provide functional expertise in transportation planning, enabling optimized logistics execution and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust system designs and technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SAP TM configurations and customizations.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, compliance, and system reliability.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for end‑users to strengthen SAP TM adoption and competency.
- Define scope, pre-requisites, coordinating and working with required technical and functional consultants for implementing BN4L.
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to reduce costs and enhance operational performance.
- Monitor system performance proactively and troubleshoot issues to support continuous availability.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and embed enhancements into the TM landscape.
- Participate in project planning and execution to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to foster a collaborative and growth‑oriented environment.
- Stay updated with SAP TM advancements to drive ongoing innovation and improvement.

What you need to have to be considered
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAP TM – Subcontracting & Tendering.
- Hands-on expertise in configuring and implementing SAP BN4L.
- Strong expertise in SAP TM – Freight Cost Management & Settlement, including charge calculation, settlement processes, and integration.
- Proven capabilities in SAP TM – Transportation Planning.
- Solid understanding of merchandising, finance, and accounting principles and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to manage complex business scenarios.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to effectively balance remote and in‑office collaboration within a hybrid model.
These will help you stand out
- Experience leading SAP TM implementations in large-scale or multi-country environments.
- Prior knowledge about the set-up and configuration of BN4L from scratch
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA logistics and finance integration.
- Familiarity with broader supply chain processes and optimization methodologies.
- Exposure to Agile delivery frameworks or large transformation programs.
- Ability to mentor teams and influence technical strategy.
