Job Details:
Scientific Data Pipeline Development
- Build and maintain end-to-end pipelines to ingest scientific data into TetraScience, including trigger-based processing and orchestration patterns.
- Implement ETL/ELT transformations to produce standardized, analysis-ready outputs and reusable pipeline components.
2) Parsers, Schemas, and Data Modeling
- Develop/productionize parsers and data schemas for diverse scientific formats (e.g., .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid and other vendor binaries
- Design and evolve data models aligned to scientific workflows and integration patterns (instrument → SDMS/ELN/LIMS).
3) AWS Cloud Engineering (TDP-aligned)- Nice to have
- Engineer cloud-native pipeline components leveraging AWS primitives commonly used with TDP deployments (e.g., containerized services + Lambda + S3 + query via Athena).
- Implement observability and operational monitoring using AWS-native monitoring patterns (dashboards/alarms/metrics).
4) Integration & APIs
- Integrate with lab and enterprise systems using REST APIs and managed gateway patterns; support secure data exchange between instrument sources and informatics targets.
- Collaborate on bidirectional integration use cases across ELN/LIMS/SDMS ecosystems.
5) Quality, Validation, and Reliability
- Build automated unit/integration tests for pipelines, ensure data integrity checks, and support audit-ready traceability practices.
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures using logs/metrics and implement resilient error handling and retries.
6) Delivery Collaboration
- Work with product owners, solution architects, scientists, and cross-functional teams to ensure pipelines fulfill scientific and operational requirements and deliver measurable value.
Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)
Programming & Data
- Python (data engineering, parsers, automation, testing)
- SQL (Amazon Athena) for querying data in S3-backed lake patterns
Cloud & AWS (hands-on)
- AWS VPC, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, EC2, S3, CloudWatch (engineering + ops)
Monitoring / Visualization
- Grafana (dashboards/monitoring for pipelines and platform services)
DevOps
- CI/CD pipeline setup (build, test, deploy automation for data/pipeline code Integration & APIs
- Working with REST APIs and API Gateways (secure integration patterns; token-based auth; rate limiting)
Front-End / Data Apps
- React (data applications) + JavaScript (building lightweight UIs for pipeline observability, data workflows, or internal tooling)
Domain Knowledge
- Experience/knowledge of ELN / LIMS / SDMS concepts and how lab data moves across systems
Nice to Have
- Dockerization / Containerization experience (building and running pipeline components as containers)
- Familiarity with TDP deployment patterns where application code is containerized and runs in managed container services, with some workloads in Lambda.
- Prior exposure to scientific/life-sciences data workflows (R&D lab instruments, CRO/CDMO, regulated environments).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience in scientific data engineering).
- Typical experience range seen in similar postings and internal role framing: 3+ years in Python/SQL for scientific data engineering (more for senior roles).
