Role: SENIOR DEVOPS Engineer
Location: Candidates will need to work in a hybrid mode from the Client’s office in TORONTO Canada

RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms, a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, and expertise in tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, and various DevSecOps tools. The role requires excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, as well as hands-on experience with Linux/Windows administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on Azure or similar platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Work with Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, and other build tools to support development and deployment workflows.
- Implement and manage DevSecOps tools to ensure security is integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline processes and improve system performance.
- Perform Linux/Windows administration tasks, including system monitoring, patching, and configuration.
- Ensure best practices for source control, branching, and versioning using tools like GitHub and Bitbucket.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Stay updated with the latest DevOps tools, trends, and technologies to continuously improve processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Proficiency with GitHub, Bitbucket, and other version control systems.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps tools (e.g., SonarQube, Checkmarx, Snyk, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Linux and Windows administration.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
- Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for the position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate and is between CAD 75,000/year – CAD 85,000/year. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
