Job Title

Network Engineer/ Data Center Technician (L2/L3) (Physical / On-Site)

90% physical and 10% logical tasks

About the Role

As a Data Center & Network Technician, you will ensure the physical deployment and logical validation of network infrastructure. You will work hands-on with cabling, device installation, and troubleshooting to maintain high availability in enterprise environments.

In this Role, You Will

  • Perform device racking and mounting following Rack Elevation Diagrams (REDs).

  • Handle structured cabling and fiber optics, including cleaning connectors and installing SFP/QSFP modules.

  • Execute patch panel terminations and cross-connects in compliance with standards.

  • Support Out-of-Band (OOB) remote management setups and troubleshoot console access.

  • Assist in Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations, including VLANs, STP, and basic routing. (10%)

Work Model

On-site role based in Basel or Stein (Aargau), Switzerland.

What You Need to Have

  • 4–7 years of experience in Data Center or enterprise network environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Ethernet and fiber cabling, hardware installation (Cisco, Arista).

  • Familiarity with routing and switching fundamentals.

  • Certifications: CCNA mandatory; CCNP is a plus.

  • Proficiency in English and min A2 German.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with DWDM and high-speed fiber links.

  • Knowledge of terminal server configuration and troubleshooting.
