About the role
As an Automation Tester with Hammer/Cyara and Conversational AI Testing experience, you will make an impact by designing, executing, and enhancing automated testing solutions that ensure high‑quality digital experiences—specifically across conversational AI, voice interactions, and telephony platforms. You will be a valued member of the QA Engineering team and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and automation architects to enable fast, reliable, and scalable product delivery.
In this role, you will:
• Develop, maintain, and optimize test automation frameworks using tools such as Hammer On Demand, Cyara, and Selenium.
• Conduct automation and functional testing for conversational AI experiences, including chatbots and voice assistants.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, performance, backend API, and database testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality software releases.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring continuous quality validation.
Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Hartford, CT.

What you need to have to be considered
• 3+ years of experience in QA automation and software testing.
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals (Java OOPs, Data Structures), with experience working in Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Hands‑on experience building and scaling automated test frameworks.
• Experience testing conversational AI solutions (chatbots or voice-based virtual assistants).
• Proficiency with Hammer On Demand, Cyara, and Selenium.
• Experience working with agentic or AI‑powered IDEs (e.g., Windsurf, Cursor).
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Experience using version control and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of BDD (Cucumber, SpecFlow) and TDD methodologies.
• Experience with backend API automation and database testing.
• Exposure to GenAI or AI‑driven test automation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
This will help you stand out
• Healthcare industry experience, including familiarity with HIPAA compliance.
• Understanding of AI model evaluation metrics (accuracy, precision, recall, F1‑score).
• Experience with API testing (REST, SOAP).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or IBM Cloud.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to 112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
