Overview

We are looking for an experienced React Native Developer to build a high‑impact Bluetooth SDK that will serve as a unified orchestration layer across multiple vendor‑specific protocols. This SDK will abstract complex hardware interactions, streamline communication with native Bluetooth modules, and enable a consistent, reliable experience for all downstream developers and end users.

In this role, you will bridge native Android/iOS Bluetooth capabilities into a seamless React Native interface—ensuring performance, stability, and cross‑platform standardization at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. API & SDK Orchestration

  • Design a clean, intuitive JavaScript/TypeScript API that abstracts intricate Android/iOS Bluetooth behaviors into a single cross‑platform interface.
  • Create developer‑friendly patterns for device discovery, connection, data handling, and error management.

2. Native Module Bridging

  • Build and maintain the communication layer between React Native and native Bluetooth modules, including Native Modules or TurboModules.
  • Collaborate closely with Swift and Kotlin engineers to ensure accurate and performant bridging.

3. Core SDK Architecture

  • Implement asynchronous event handling, state management, and multivendor logic within the React Native lifecycle.
  • Ensure the SDK is modular, scalable, and optimized for production environments.

4. Cross‑Platform Standardization

  • Deliver a unified developer experience by ensuring functional parity across Android and iOS.
  • Define coding standards, architectural patterns, and reusable components to support long‑term maintainability.

What You Bring

React Native Expertise

  • Strong, hands‑on experience building high‑performance React Native applications or SDKs.
  • Understanding of React Native architecture, lifecycle, and performance optimization.

Native Interoperability

  • Proven experience building Native Modules or TurboModules.
  • Ability to integrate with Swift (iOS) and Kotlin/Java (Android).

JavaScript/TypeScript Mastery

  • Deep experience with TypeScript, especially in designing clean, type‑safe, and extensible APIs.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Bluetooth / BLE protocols, device pairing workflows, or hardware‑integrated mobile applications.
  • Experience collaborating with hardware engineering, firmware, or low‑level mobile teams.

Why This Role Matters

You’re not just building app features—you’re creating a core infrastructure layer that hundreds of developers will rely on. Your work will simplify complex hardware interactions, enhance reliability, and directly support large‑scale operational workflows.

Compensation: - $90,000 to 110,000 +/- and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 4/20/2026
