About the role
As a Deskside Support Engineer, you will make an impact by owning end-user computing, including desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and AV devices, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. You will troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, manage device configuration, imaging, data restoration, and collaboration tools, and implement solutions that reduce downtime and enhance efficiency. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Engagement Delivery Lead.

In this role, you will:
• Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and AV devices.
• Configure BIOS, hardware settings, applications, collaboration tools, and network connectivity on end-user devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve OS, software, VPN, driver, and compatibility issues.
• Manage data backup, imaging, reimaging, and restoration for all end-user devices.
• Use ServiceNow to track, document, and resolve incidents and service requests.
• Deliver remote desktop support and maintain both Windows and Mac systems.
• Support Nexthink and other end-user tools to enhance productivity and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive IT service improvements and innovations.
• Monitor IT service metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices while maintaining high service levels.

Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Atlanta, GA.

What you need to have to be considered
• Strong expertise in IT Service Management and Incident Management.
• 4+ years of experience with desktop/laptop support, printer support, troubleshooting end-user devices, and AV device support.
• Experience supporting Macintosh OS X laptops, Windows systems, and remote desktop support.
• Skilled in configuring hardware, BIOS, applications, collaboration tools, and network connectivity.
• Knowledge of data backup, imaging, reimaging, and restoration processes.
• Proficiency with end-user tools such as Nexthink and ServiceNow.
• Solid understanding of networking principles and IT infrastructure.

These will help you stand out
• ITIL Certification, CompTIA Network+, and Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Customer-focused, with a drive to deliver exceptional support and user satisfaction.
