Cybersecurity Analyst – Vulnerability Management & Tenable

Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Work Model: Hybrid

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Analyst with hands‑on experience in vulnerability management, Tenable product suites, and enterprise security tooling. This role strengthens the organization’s security posture through vulnerability scanning, analysis, integration, and remediation workflows across hybrid environments. The ideal candidate also brings strong IT systems administration capabilities and the ability to collaborate across security, infrastructure, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Vulnerability Management & Tenable Operations

· Operate, configure, and maintain Tenable.SC and Nessus scanning platforms.

· Execute vulnerability scans, validate findings, and coordinate remediation with application and system owners.

· Analyze vulnerabilities for severity, exploitability, and business impact.

· Generate vulnerability risk reports for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Cybersecurity Data Integration & Analysis

· Integrate cybersecurity data into enterprise analysis tools including Splunk.

· Build dashboards, alerts, and reporting to enhance visibility into risk posture.

· Support ingestion, normalization, and correlation of security telemetry.

CDM Tools & Security Technology Operations

· Design, implement, configure, and operate Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) tools.

· Support tool lifecycle activities including upgrades, hardening, and integration.

· Perform configuration management and software assurance for security tools.

Systems Administration & Technical Support

· Perform systems administration across Windows, Linux, and VMware environments.

· Support installation, troubleshooting, configuration, patching, and performance monitoring.

· Apply security upgrades and ensure compliance with system hardening standards.

Cross‑Team Collaboration & Documentation

· Partner with IT, Infrastructure, and Security teams to assess and remediate vulnerabilities.

· Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and runbooks.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations workflows.

Required Qualifications

· Experience with Tenable products including Tenable.SC and Nessus.

· Experience integrating cybersecurity data into enterprise tools (e.g., Splunk).

· Strong background in vulnerability management, scanning, and remediation processes.

· 2+ years IT experience working in enterprise environments.

· 2+ years configuring, implementing, and operating CDM tools.

· 2+ years performing systems administration in Windows, Linux, or VMware environments.

· Experience performing troubleshooting, installation, configuration, monitoring, patching, and upgrades.

· 1+ years of software assurance or security tool configuration.

· Excellent communication and documentation skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a hybrid (onsite + remote) team model.

Compensation (U.S.)

The annual salary range for this position is $89,000 – $108,000 USD, depending on experience, technical skillset, and geographic market alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and discretionary incentive programs under company policy.
