Job Title - Data Governance Lead

About the role
As a Data Governance Lead, you will support enterprise Data Governance operations, improve data quality, and strengthen trusted data for analytics and AI. You will work with Data & AI partners, data owners, stewards, and technical teams across domains.
In this role, you will:
· Operationalize Data Governance frameworks and standards.
· Manage data asset certification, governance processes, and access alignment.
· Enable Data Owners, Stewards, and Technical Owners with clear role definitions and training.
· Configure Atlan and Monte Carlo for lineage, data quality, and issue workflows.
· Improve tool interoperability and define standards‑aligned access and permissions.
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 4 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Houston, TX.

What you need to have to be considered
· Experience in Data Governance, cataloging, and standards adoption.
· Hands‑on experience with Atlan (preferred) and Monte Carlo (preferred).
· Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform.
· Experience with data quality KPIs, root cause analysis, and governance reporting.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to guide teams on governance best practices.
These will help you stand out
· Experience with enterprise governance alignment and standards harmonization.
· Familiarity with agentic AI for metadata and data quality improvements.
· Experience automating workflows using Atlan playbooks and Atlan AI.
· Knowledge of GCP/BigQuery tag migration to Atlan.
· Ability to build end‑to‑end lineage across diverse systems.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $81,000 - $135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
