About the role
As a Data Engineer (Snowflake/AWS/Kafka), you will make an impact by designing and implementing advanced, scalable data engineering solutions that enhance data processing, automation, and real-time capabilities across our Asset & Wealth Management domain. You will be a valued member of our data engineering team and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to drive operational excellence and innovation.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement robust data solutions using Snowpark to improve system performance and scalability.
Optimize Kafka integrations for reliable, real-time data streaming and event-driven processing.
Build and deploy AWS Lambda functions to enable efficient, serverless compute workflows.
Develop and maintain Python scripts to support automation, transformation, and large-scale data operations.
Create and optimize Snowflake Tasks and Streams to enhance workflow orchestration and real-time data capture.
Develop advanced Snowflake SQL queries for analytics, reporting, and data extraction.
Configure and maintain Snowpipe for automated, low-latency data ingestion.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality solution integration and alignment with business goals.
Apply domain expertise in Asset & Wealth Management to ensure solutions meet regulatory and business needs.
Troubleshoot technical issues to maintain high reliability, quality, and performance across data pipelines.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days per week in Pittsburgh, PA.

What you need to have to be considered:
Strong experience with Snowpark, Kafka, AWS Lambda, and Python in designing scalable data solutions.
Proficiency with Snowflake Tasks, Streams, SQL, and Snowpipe for enterprise data processing and orchestration.
Experience in the Asset & Wealth Management domain.
Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh, PA, 5 days per week.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities to address complex technical challenges.
These will help you stand out:
Experience optimizing large-scale distributed data systems.
Knowledge of hybrid or multi-cloud architecture practices.
Broader experience across financial services and investment management workflows.
Ability to drive solution design discussions and influence data engineering strategy.
Certifications required:
AWS Certified Developer
Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until April 05, 2025
The annual salary for this position is between $ 95,000 - $ 109,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
