As a General Accountant with Payroll Expertise, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, overseeing payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with Egyptian tax and labor regulations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who can handle payroll responsibilities as part of a broader financial scope. Your key responsibilities will be:

General Accounting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries, invoices, and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including monitoring payment schedules and collections.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Roll-out and implementation of an accounting software

Payroll Processing:

• Prepare and process monthly payroll for employees in Cairo, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations, deductions, and bonuses.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax, social insurance, and labor laws, preparing and submitting required filings and payments.
• Maintain detailed payroll records and address employee payroll queries.
• Collaborate with the People Team and Finance Team to ensure alignment on payroll-related matters.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with Egyptian accounting standards, labor laws, and tax regulations.
• Prepare and submit tax returns, including income tax, value-added tax (VAT), and other statutory filings.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and government agencies as needed.

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have 5+ years of experience in accounting and payroll processing, preferably in Egypt.
• You have a strong knowledge of Egyptian tax regulations, labor laws, and social insurance requirements.
• You have proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.
• You have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• You have strong communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• You have the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
