At praxipal, we are building an AI-powered healthcare workforce to address the global shortage of medical staff. Our core product, Luna, is an AI receptionist that automates patient communication and is loved by more than 100 medical practices.

We are backed by one of Europe’s leading investors and are one of the fastest growing healthtech startups in Germany. Our team has previously worked and studied at companies and institutions such as Palantir, Amazon, SAP, the University of Cambridge, and Hasso Plattner Institute.

We are hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of the systems that will power the next generation of healthcare software.

The Role

This is a 100% individual contributor role with end-to-end responsibility for production systems.

You will design, build, and operate the infrastructure that underpins our platform - from cloud foundations and CI/CD to authentication and real-time voice services. We build our systems with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and correctness, ensuring that critical healthcare workflows remain uninterrupted.

The role is on-site in Berlin and requires fluent German.

What You’ll Do

Core Responsibilities

(You will be the primary owner and decision-maker.)

  • Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP (Kubernetes, Pulumi)

  • Design and operate production systems with a clear focus on availability, security, and operational clarity

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) that support safe, repeatable deployments

  • Own security and SecOps topics, including authentication and identity infrastructure (Zitadel)

  • Serve as the primary owner for infrastructure, DevOps, and security decisions, including tradeoffs around reliability, security, latency, and operational complexity

Project-Based Work

  • Extend and maintain our real-time voice infrastructure, including SIP-based services written in Rust

  • Build and operate integration infrastructure that supports connecting tens of thousands of individual medical practices.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

  • Strong hands-on programming experience in Rust

  • Strong experience in TypeScript and/or Python

  • Proven experience owning production infrastructure in AWS and/or GCP

  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes, distributed systems, and operational best practices

  • Hands-on experience with Pulumi

  • Deep understanding of DevOps and SecOps principles

  • Fluent German (spoken and written)

  • Several years of experience in startups or scale-ups

  • Looking forward to work on-site in Berlin in a fast-moving environment in build-mode

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience managing AWS Kubernetes stacks with Python-based Pulumi

  • Experience with Tailscale

  • Prior work with SIP, telephony, or other real-time systems

How We Work

  • High ownership: You design, build, deploy, and operate systems end-to-end. When something breaks, you’re responsible for making sure it does not break again.

  • Hands-on and pragmatic: You focus on building robust systems that work under real-world constraints.

  • Humble and collaborative: We do not hire people who believe they are smarter or more important than the team. Team fit and attitude are non-negotiable. If you are brilliant but lack humility, you are not a fit.

Growth & Responsibility

  • Long-term individual contributor career path

  • Ownership of systems where:

    • reliability is non-negotiable,

    • security decisions have real regulatory implications,

    • and architectural choices shape how well the next generation of healthcare software works for years to come

Location & Compensation

  • Location: Berlin (100% on-site)

  • Competitive compensation: €100,000–€140,000 total compensation (cash + equity)

  • Office perks: A beautiful workspace in Berlin Mitte, complete with a ping pong table, PlayStation, and VR setup.

  • Team bonding: Regular get-togethers and happy hours.

  • Health and productivity: Free dinners, subsidized lunches and sponsored gym subscription.

If you want to shape the next generation of healthcare software with us, apply now.

Compensation Range: €100K - €140K
