Job Description

Our team works at the intersection of quantitative investing and software engineering, developing systematic trading strategies, advanced optimization models, and scalable investment solutions for thousands of clients. Interns are exposed to a broad range of areas, including financial risk and tax optimization, automation of wealth management algorithms, and trading analytics. You’ll see how real-world financial challenges are translated into high-impact optimization problems using a cutting-edge technology stack. The specific focus of your internship will depend on current priorities and opportunities, but you will join a team where mathematical rigor, practical impact, and innovation define every project. This means you will experience the diversity of our challenges, even if you will ultimately specialize in one area during your time with us.

• Develop hands-on production code in Python as part of a highly motivated team of software engineers and quant developers, directly impacting billions of euros in assets and transforming the financial industry

• Support the development of interactive dashboards and monitoring tools for trade analysis and model validation

• Gain exposure to trading algorithms and burst computations capable of handling millions of trades in minutes and delivering unique, institutional-grade insights to clients

• Be part of a modern software engineering culture: agile teams, continuous integration and deployment, rigorous test automation, cloud-native infrastructure, and end-to-end observability

• Collaborate on projects that blend research and practice - learning how to rapidly deliver scientific ideas to production, bridge R&D with operational excellence, and see innovation directly influence business outcomes

• Never implement any of the above in spreadsheets

• Learn from industry-leading experts, deepen your understanding of financial engineering, regulatory frameworks, and quantitative modeling, and be empowered in a culture where the best ideas win

Qualifications

As a member of our Financial Engineering Team, you have

• Excellent academic background in a quantitative discipline (financial mathematics, computational finance, statistics or a similar field)
• Very good Python knowledge
• Knowledge of version control software, software development and software design
• You are available for min. 3 months internship or 6 months as a working student
• Fluency in English (written & spoken)
• Excellent communication skills that are clear, concise, and targeted towards your audience - engineering, product, or other stakeholders

Preferred skills

• Experience with cloud providers like AWS
• Experience in relational databases / SQL
• Knowledge in econometrics, portfolio optimization and risk modelling
• Proactive and independent workstyle, good time management, fair play
• Passion for the global financial markets
