Tzafon is a research firm building scalable compute systems and advancing machine intelligence, with offices in San Francisco & Tel Aviv. We recently raised $9.7m in pre-seed funding to advance our mission of expanding the frontiers of machine intelligence.

We’re a team of engineers and scientists with deep backgrounds in ML infrastructure & research. Founded by IOI and IMO medalists, PhDs, and alumni from leading tech companies, we train models and build infrastructure for swarms of agents to automate work across real-world environments.

About the Role

We're looking for an organized, proactive, and hands-on Business and Office Operations Manager to help keep our San Francisco HQ running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and is excited to shape the physical and operational backbone of a world-class research team.

You’ll manage our office space and support the team’s productivity through device provisioning, HR coordination, vendor relationships, and keeping the workplace stocked and functional.

What You’ll Do

  • Device & IT Management: Oversee laptop and equipment setup, inventory, and basic IT troubleshooting (onboarding/offboarding, MDM setup, etc.)

  • Office Administration: Maintain a clean, functional, and well-stocked office space—handle pantry orders, supply restocking, shipping/receiving, and maintenance requests.

  • People Ops Support: Coordinate with HR for onboarding/offboarding, team events, and internal communications.

  • Payroll & Benefits Liaison: Partner with finance/HR to ensure smooth payroll processing and benefit administration via Deel, Rippling, or similar platforms.

  • Vendor & Facilities Management: Handle relationships with building management, cleaners, repair techs, and other external vendors.

  • Event & Travel Coordination: Help plan team events, lunches, offsites, and coordinate occasional travel logistics.

  • Office Culture: Be a welcoming face for new hires and guests; foster a positive, productive, and inclusive office environment.

We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of office or operations management experience in a fast-paced or startup environment.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience with tools like GSuite, Slack, Notion, Rippling, or Deel.

  • Comfortable with light IT/device management and willingness to learn more.

  • Friendly, reliable, and proactive communicator who can work independently.

  • Located in or willing to commute to our San Francisco office 2-3 days a week.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $35/hour (contract, ~20 hours/week)
