Key Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to spot and long term sea freight pricing requests for all trades ( FCL/ LCL) in a timely manner prioritising accuracy, competitiveness and transparency.
- Assist in maintenance of all pricing related internal tools to support the ongoing business requirements.
- Support the sales teams to align pricing proposals and develop a clear framework of client requirements and routing information
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure seamless transition from quotation to booking.
- Work alongside the pricing&procurement team on projects to develop process improvements and ongoing automation tools.
- Source and negotiate rates with carriers, LCL consolidators, hauliers and agents to maintain competitiveness and service reliability.
- Conduct comparative cost analysis to optimise pricing strategies, maximising business.
- Analyse success of quotes and follow up with sales / clients.
- Support pricing teams with any other pricing/ procurement related tasks as business requires.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

- Negotiation: Ability to secure competitive pricing and service commitments from carriers and suppliers using spot tools and other sources.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to assess pricing structures, evaluate market trends, interpret cost data.
- Communication & Collaboration: Effective in engaging with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to addressing challenges, making data-driven decisions and optimising procurement strategies.
- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple pricing requests efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Ensures accuracy in pricing submissions and pricing documents.
- Flexibility: Ability to be open to working on different pricing related tasks as the business requires.
.Technical & Competency Skills
- Strong understanding of ocean freight LCL and FCL pricing structures, carrier quote tools, trade lane dynamics, and carrier relationships.
- Understanding of supply chain operations in order to translate the necessary moves into a pricing quote
- Ability to compare ocean carrier pricing to optimise profit
- Experience with contract management and rate filing processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, including pivot tables, Vlookup and other formulas to speed up the pace of data analysis
- Knowledge of global supply chain economics and how they impact the ocean freight
